The Wizards waived Ayayi on Wednesday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
After he was claimed off waivers from the Lakers in October, Ayayi proceeded to appear in only seven games for the Wizards this season before surrendering his two-way slot to rookie guard Jordan Schakel. The 22-year-old Ayayi struggled over a larger sample of action in the G League with the Capital City Go-Go, averaging 9.1 points, 6.3 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 31.3 minutes per game over 20 appearances.
