The Colts placed Avery (knee) on injured reserve Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Avery requires surgery to address a season-ending knee injury involving the LCL and meniscus. The veteran defensive end inked with Indianapolis in early June, but he will now need to set his sights on making a recovery for the 2024 campaign.
