Callahan was released by the Packers on Thursday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Callahan won out the No. 3 spot on the depth chart during the preseason, but with the return of Mike Pennel from suspension, the rookie quarterback found himself as the odd man out on the roster. The Packers have gone with only two quarterbacks on the roster in seasons past, so barring any injuries the move shouldn't affect the team going forward.
