The Packers signed Ahmed to their practice squad Monday, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
Ahmed was let go by the team Tuesday despite converting all three field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries during the preseason. The 27-year-old provides the Packers with an in-house alternative to promote to the active roster should top kicker Mason Crosby miss any time.
