Edebali recorded two sacks as part of a three-tackle performance in the Saints' preseason opener against the Patriots on Thursday.
Edebali, who is in competition for the starting defensive end spot opposite Cameron Jordan, had an impressive debut with a pair of sacks on Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Edebali had five sacks playing as part of a rotation last season, so he's shown the ability to rush the passer. The competition between him and Obum Gwacham (who also had a nice preseason opener with five tackles) should continue throughout training camp, but if Edebali can secure the starting role, he could be an interesting option in deeper IDP leagues.
