It amazes me when I release my weekly DFS rankings and then check ownership percentages how much similarity there often is. This week my top QB and RB were both the most owned players at their position. In fact, 12 of my top 20 players were among the five most-owned players at their positions. I thought it might be valuable this week to take a look at where the two lists do not agree.

Tyrod Taylor ($7,200) was the only quarterback in my top five who was less than eight percent owned. I'm not sure if this was because people are leery about Taylor's knee, or if they've just forgotten how good he was. In terms of FanDuel points per game only Tom Brady has been better. Ben Roethlisberger ($8,300) also makes a really nice pivot off of Philip Rivers or Drew Brees.

LeGarrette Blount ($6,400) was the 12th highest owned RB (4 percent) and the second highest owned running back on his own team. This feels like a game where the Patriots run the ball 25-30 times, which should mean a heavy dose of Blount. I'd rather play him than DeAngelo Williams, who was 24 percent owned on Thursday. I also don't want too much Todd Gurley ($9,000) considering he's the third highest owned back and has one of the more difficult matchups.

I like Alshon Jeffery ($7,900) a lot this week but I was surprised he was the highest owned wide receiver at 20 percent. Odell Beckham Jr. ($9,000) was right there with him. Personally, I'd rather pay another $200 for Julio Jones. I don't like a lot of the very low owned players, but I can tell you I'd much rather have Steve Johnson ($5,400) than Malcom Floyd ($6,100). Floyd was owned in almost twice as many lineups.

Nothing shocked me like the tight end ownership. Benjamin Watson ($5,700) was the highest owned tight end. More people are playing Watson than Antonio Gates ($6,000) and Heath Miller ($5,800) combined. Jacob Tamme ($5,200) is below three percent again. Assuming Leonard Hankerson is a out, Tamme will be one of my favorite contrarian plays. I'll also own a lot of Austin Seferian-Jenkins ($5,200) if he's finally active this week.
