Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Leaves start after first period

Merzlikins (illness) exited Tuesday's game versus the Penguins after the first period, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Merzlikins made seven saves in the first period without allowing a goal, and the Blue Jackets established a 3-0 lead. Michael Hutchinson took over in net for Merzlikins, who can be considered day-to-day.
