Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Starting against San Jose

Merzlikins will guard the home goal during Sunday's matchup with the Sharks, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Merzlikins was awful in his last start Tuesday against the Predators, surrendering three goals on just nine shots before being replaced by Joonas Korpisalo midway through the first period of the eventual 6-0 loss. He'll try to put that poor performance behind him and secure his 10th win of the year in a home matchup with a San Jose squad that's averaging 2.64 goals per game on the road this season, 18th in the NHL.
