Copley stopped 15 of 19 shots before being replaced by Ilya Samsonov early in the third period of Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jackets.

The Capitals handed the 30-year-old a 2-0 lead only 40 seconds into the second period, but Copley squandered it and found himself staring at a 4-3 deficit early in the third before Samsonov took over. Fortunately for Copley's record, Washington managed to tie it up before Boone Jenner potted the game-winner. The goalie will only stick around on the NHL roster until Vitek Vanecek (upper body) is ready to return.
