Vanecek (lower body) will not dress for Game 5 against Boston on Sunday, NHL.com reports.
For the third straight game, Craig Anderson will serve as the backup behind Ilya Samsonov. Vanecek hasn't been available since suffering an injury in Game 1. The 25-year-old will be questionable for Tuesday's Game 6 if Washington avoids elimination Sunday.
