Petersen was summoned from AHL Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
Petersen will occupy the backup role behind Samuel Ersson on Tuesday against Tampa Bay after Carter Hart (personal) was granted an indefinite leave of absence. The 29-year-old Petersen has stopped 60 of 67 shots in two NHL outings this campaign en route to a 1-1-0 record.
