Islanders' Scott Mayfield: Notches assist in loss

Mayfield had his first assist of the season in a 2-1 overtime loss to San Jose on Thursday.

The assist was the first point for Mayfield since Oct. 21 versus the Blue Jackets, a span of 14 games. Mayfield and the Islanders will try to break a nine-game losing streak Saturday versus the Red Wings.
