Islanders' Scott Mayfield: Produces just one point so far

Mayfield has one point (a goal) in seven games this season.

Like most of the back end for the Islanders, Mayfield is a defense-first defender who doesn't add much in the offensive zone. His best season points-wise was in 2018-19, when he had 19, and the most goals he's scored in a season is five. The team is fine with his lack of offensive production as long as he's rock-solid in front of his own net, but Mayfield has gotten off to a slow start with a rating of minus-2. Mayfield will look to get on the plus side of that ledger when the Islanders next play in Montreal on Thursday.
