Athanasiou scored a goal on four shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Sharks.

Athanasiou helped out on a Phillip Danault goal and scored one of his own in a span of eight seconds in the first period. The 27-year-old Athanasiou has three goals and a helper in three games since he returned from an undisclosed injury. He's seen second-line usage with Viktor Arvidsson (lower body) out. Athanasiou has 14 points, 51 shots on net and a plus-2 rating in 22 appearances this season, but he could be in line for a bump if he continues to play in a top-six role.
