Three of Washington's five goals came with the man advantage, including one in each period. Alex Ovechkin added a short-handed tally with 7:59 left in the third period to make it a 5-1 game and seal the opening-night loss for Georgiev and the Rangers. The 25-year-old netminder went 8-7-2 with a 2.71 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 19 appearances last season.
