Luukkonen made 34 saves in a 6-4 win over the Senators on Tuesday.

Luukkonen, making his season debut, played well and had a 5-1 lead until the 15:35 mark of the third period. At that point, the Sabres' defense all but imploded, leaving their netminder alone on a proverbial island. Within a 3:23 span, the Sens scored three on Luukkonen and were pressuring in the last minute when Tage Thompson sealed the game with an empty-net, shorthanded goal with 23 seconds left. The Sabres currently have three goalies on the roster, with rookie Devon Levi (lower body) leading the pack when healthy. Luukkonen's fantasy fortune is restricted in this situation, at least for now.
