Brown suffered a broken jaw when he took a puck to the face during pregame warmups ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Flames and will be out "a while," Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

Despite breaking his jaw during warmups, Brown performed admirably during Thursday's 4-1 win over Calgary, picking up a goal and an assist while posting a plus-3 rating. The Senators have yet to release a definite timetable for the 28-year-old winger's status, but it's safe to assume he'll miss at least a handful of contests. At this point it isn't clear who will get the first crack at replacing Brown on Ottawa's second line Saturday against Edmonton.
