Senators' Derick Brassard: Has successful surgery Tuesday

Brassard (shoulder) had surgery Tuesday that "went according to plan."

The recovery time on this surgery is around 4-to-5 months, meaning Ottawa is hopeful he'll be ready to go in time for next season. Brassard recorded 14 goals and 25 assists over 81 regular-season games, then four goals and seven assists over 19 postseason games in his first year with Ottawa.
