Benning (lower body) was moved to injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
Benning, who is considered week-to-week, hasn't been in the lineup since Dec. 3 against the Rangers. He has collected two assists, 13 shots on goal, 29 blocked shots and 15 hits across 14 appearances this season.
