While the golf world has to wait another seven months for its next major championship to be contested, the excitement for most important international event in the sport has reached a fever pitch after one day of play at the 43rd Ryder Cup. With Day 2 action beginning Saturday morning in Wisconsin, this event -- still technically named the 2020 Ryder Cup -- will surely continue with the same bang it experienced when it started Friday.

Serving as the host is a beautiful Whistling Straits course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, with some links characteristics that should excite the European team. They will need whatever help they can get Saturday. Europe entered as significant underdogs to the United States, and that gulf only grew further after the Americans put on a show with a 9-3 entering the fourth session Saturday afternoon. Though the U.S. is just 2-7 in Ryder Cups since the turn of the century, it is looking to win its second straight on home soil.

This one is going to be a barn-burner from start to finish. So go ahead and brush up on the Ryder Cup format along with the scoring and rules procedures as the event continues Saturday. If this Ryder Cup is anything like the last one held in the United States at Hazeltine in 2016, it's going to be a ton of fun with plenty of Cheeseheads having a blast in Wisconsin.

Follow Day 2 live Ryder Cup results and scores here on CBS Sports as the Americans posted their third straight 3-1 session Saturday morning. Four-ball action is underway in the afternoon before the Ryder Cup wraps up with singles on Sunday. The Americans already have a commanding lead, but they could stretch it even further before Saturday is out.

Here's a look at Saturday's schedule so you can watch all the action. All times Eastern
