  • Brewers' Grant Anderson: Summoned from Triple-A

The Brewers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Nashville on Monday. The Brewers are deploying Elvin Rodriguez as an opening pitcher in Monday's game against the Royals and aren't counting on him working deep into the contest, so Anderson will provide an extra option out of a bullpen that was worked heavily in the three-game series with the Yankees over the weekend. With the Rangers a season ago, Anderson made 23 appearances and turned in an 8.10 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 26.2 innings.

  • Brewers' Grant Anderson: Optioned to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Anderson to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The Brewers acquired Anderson via trade from the Rangers in January before watching him struggle this spring, allowing five runs over 3.2 innings of work. Anderson will head to Nashville for now but should get a shot in Milwaukee's bullpen eventually.

  • Brewers' Grant Anderson: Dealt to Brewers

Anderson was traded from the Rangers to the Brewers in exchange for Mason Molina on Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Anderson was designated for assignment Monday to make room for Joc Pederson on the Rangers' 40-man roster, though it's not necessarily a big surprise for another team to show interest in him. He's posted strikeout rates of 38.3 and 28.3 percent with Triple-A Round Rock in each of the last two seasons, giving him enough strikeout upside to contribute out of a big-league bullpen.

  • Rangers' Grant Anderson: Designated for assignment

The Rangers designated Anderson for assignment Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Joc Pederson, whose signing was officially announced. Anderson, 27, holds a 6.35 ERA and 59:24 K:BB over 62.1 relief innings across the last two seasons. He has a 32.7 percent strikeout rate at the Triple-A level, so it's possible Anderson draws interest via trade or waivers.

  • Rangers' Grant Anderson: Makes rehab appearance

Anderson (ankle) made a rehab appearance with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, tossing a 1-2-3 scoreless inning. Anderson was placed on the 15-day injured list Sept. 6 with a right ankle contusion but looks to be tracking toward an abbreviated stint on the shelf. The right-hander has typically served as a low-leverage reliever for Texas this season, logging one save and one hold while turning in an 8.10 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 26.2 innings.

  • Rangers' Grant Anderson: Lands on injured list

Anderson was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 5, with a right ankle contusion. The right-hander was forced to leave Wednesday's game after a 103 mph comebacker off the bat of Jazz Chisholm caromed off his ankle. Anderson appears to have escaped with nothing more than a bruise, but it will still cost him at least a couple weeks and could perhaps end his season. Owen White was recalled in a corresponding move.

In 22.2 innings with the Rangers, Anderson has a 7.54 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP.

  • Rangers' Grant Anderson: Up as 27th man

The Rangers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday. Anderson will return to the Rangers to give the team extra bullpen depth as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees. The 27-year-old owns an 8.53 ERA and 1.63 WHIP through 19 frames in the big leagues, but he has allowed just two runs (both unearned) in eight Triple-A innings since being optioned to the minors in early July.

  • Rangers' Grant Anderson: Dazzles in MLB debut

Anderson (1-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Tigers. He allowed a hit while striking out seven over 2.2 scoreless innings. Anderson was dominant out of the bullpen Tuesday, striking out all but two of the batters he faced to earn a win in his major-league debut. The 25-year-old right-hander pitched to a 3.54 ERA across 28 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, logging 47 strikeouts in that span. While it's easy to overreact to a performance like Tuesday's, Anderson has the stuff to eventually carve out a high-leverage role in Texas' bullpen.
