Veteran point guard Jose Calderon is 35 years old and only played 41 games last season, but that apparently didn't stop the Cavaliers from bringing him aboard.

According to a tweet by his agency, Priority Sports, and a report from Shams Charania of The Vertical, Calderon has agreed to a one-year minimum deal with the Cavs.

A native of Spain, Calderon has been a productive player both in the NBA and overseas during a career that started in 1998. He spent last season with the Lakers and the Hawks, with a two-hour stint as a member of the Golden State Warriors in between.

Calderon, who will be 36 when the 2017-18 season begins, will likely serve as the backup point guard to Kyrie Irving. That likely means the Cavaliers are not going to try to bring back free agent point guard Deron Williams, who finished last season with Cleveland.

Calderon averaged 3.4 points and 2.1 assists in 13.1 minutes per game last season.
