More SVG: Report: Van Gundy in talks with Pistons | Report: Warriors will turn to Kerr
Yahoo Sports reports that as talks continue beween the Detroit Pistons and Stan Van Gundy to make SVG the head of basketball operations and head coach, the framework of the deal could be as high as five-years, $35 million.

That's quite a bit of money from owner Tom Gores, an indication of how serious he is about acquiring the former Magic coach to lead his team. But deals for head of basketball operations and coaches are rare, and that extra responsibility comes with extra compensation. SVG is also the beneficiary of a bidding war happening between the Pistons and the Warriors, and being one of the few coaches with Finals experience on the market.
