If you need one play to encapsulate why everybody's so excited about the future of the Minnesota Timberwolves, I'd direct you to the first quarter of their game against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Andrew Wiggins made a perfect pass to Ricky Rubio out of a double team, Rubio caught it and immediately threw a behind-the-back pass to Karl-Anthony Towns for a dunk.

On the wing, the Wolves have the Rookie of the Year, who is 20 years old and already elite defensively and capable of exploding for 25-plus points any night. Inside, they have this year's likely Rookie of the Year, who is also 20 years old and looks like one of the best big men in the NBA right now. And then there's Rubio, who is 25 years old, one of the best defensive players at his position and lives to set up his teammates -- perhaps no one else in the league would have made this exact pass.

Minnesota is just as fun to watch as everybody thought they'd be. More important, this team might actually be pretty good already. It'll be .500 on the season if it holds onto its lead against the Magic.
