  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Receives treatment for injuries

Towns underwent stem cell treatment and platelet-rich plasma injections in both knees, his left ankle, left wrist and right finger Friday, Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com reports.

Shelburne relays that Towns played through a cyst on his left ankle, a subluxated left wrist, an aggravated joint on the middle finger of his shooting hand and pain in both knees during the Timberwolves' postseason run. The talented big man hopes the treatments he received Friday will help him avoid offseason surgery. As of now, Towns is expected to be available for the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-double not enough

Towns produced 28 points (7-15 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 9-9 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three steals in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 111-109 loss to the Grizzlies.

Towns has four double-doubles in five games during the current series against the Grizzlies, and while he produced a strong output on both ends of the court, his efforts were not enough to lift Minnesota to what would've been a 3-2 series lead. While Towns has been heavily criticized for his performance in Game 3 of the series, he's still averaging 22.6 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field and 52.6 percent from deep in the current series.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Struggles in Game 3 loss

Towns amassed eight points (3-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and five blocks over 33 minutes during Thursday's 104-95 loss to the Grizzlies.

The five rejections salvaged his line somewhat from a fantasy perspective, but it was still a disappointing effort from Towns, especially considering Minnesota squandered a 26-point lead Thursday. The Timberwolves will need him to return to form if they're going to overcome a 2-1 series deficit.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Another double-double

Towns amassed 15 points (4-7 FG, 7-8 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and one assist during Tuesday's 124-96 loss to Memphis.

Towns recorded his fifth straight double-double and 42nd of the season. The Kentucky product is averaging 23.8 points and 11.6 rebounds on 53.0 percent shooting from the field during that span.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-double in Game 1

Towns racked up 29 points (11-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and one block over 43 minutes during Saturday's 130-117 win over the Grizzlies.

The 26-year-old center once again played second fiddle to Anthony Edwards in the scoring department, but Towns was still plenty productive, and it'd proving to be a winning formula for Minnesota. Over his last 20 games, including the play-in win over the Clippers, Towns is averaging 24.3 points, 10.4 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.7 threes and 1.1 blocks while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor, trading a bit of usage for greater efficiency.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Struggles with foul trouble

Towns finished with 11 points (3-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 24 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 109-104 win over the Clippers.

Not only did Towns find himself in foul trouble early, but he was also unable to get much going when he was on the court. Luckily for the Timberwolves, Jarred Vanderbilt and Naz Reid pitched in to offset Towns' misfortunes. He should be able to turn things around in the series against the Grizzlies, as he posted excellent numbers in all four games against Memphis this season.

Towns played at least 30 minutes in each of his last 10 appearances and averaged 22.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 33.2 minutes per game during that time. Naz Reid, Nathan Knight and Greg Monroe should see increased run Sunday.
