If you asked 10 people who the best defensive player in the NFL is, you might get a few different answers, especially if you asked right now -- while J.J. Watt is injured. Some people might say Von Miller or Aaron Donald or Khalil Mack or Luke Kuechly or any number of other players.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady gave his thoughts on the subject this week, and he's got another idea: Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett.

"If he's not the best defensive player in the league, I don't know who is," Brady said, per FieldGulls.com. "He's right up there at the top, so they've got good genes in that family, I know that."

Brady is somewhat biased, as Bennett is the brother of Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett (hence the "good genes" line), but Bennett has long been one of the best NFL players at his position. His strength is his versatility, as he has been able to line up all over the formation and wreak havoc both as a pass rusher and a run stopper. He's also on one of the biggest bargain contracts in all of football, as he is working on only a four-year, $28.5 million contract.

Bennett is currently sidelined and expected to miss this week's Seahawks-Patriots game, as he is still recovering from surgery that resulted from a knee injury he suffered a few weeks ago.
