Yes, I know Baylor just lost 84-78 at Texas Tech. But contrary to what most AP voters would have you believe based on the ballots they often submit, there's no rule saying a school must drop after a loss no matter what.
So Baylor remains No. 4 in the Top 25 (and one).
And the reason is simple: I can't find a single school ranked below the Bears that deserve to be ranked above the Bears. They still have 11 top-50 KenPom wins and 10 top-50 RPI wins, leading the nation in both categories. And Baylor continues to have zero sub-35 KenPom losses even with the loss to Texas Tech because Texas Tech is 34th at KenPom and thus better than most realize.
Bottom line, if the NCAA Tournament started today, Baylor would still be a No. 1 seed. So Baylor should still be in the top four of the Top 25 (and one). And that's why the Bears didn't drop from the spot where they were Monday morning despite falling to 22-4 overall, and 9-4 in the Big 12, on Monday night.
The complete Top 25 (and one) is below.
