Baylor is 6-0 with three wins over top-15 preseason teams. So, naturally, Matt Norlander and I opened this episode of the Eye on College Basketball podcast discussing the Bears, and I said a lot of what I wrote this weekend -- specifically that Scott Drew is one of the sport's consistently good coaches, and that he should be labeled as such. That led into a conversation about the Big 12 in general. Norlander said he thinks Iowa State will finish second behind Kansas. I didn't disagree.

And how about South Carolina?

The Gamecocks -- 6-0 thanks to double-digit victories over Michigan and Syracuse -- are one of three SEC teams now in the Top 25 (and one). So, yes, it looks like Frank Martin will take South Carolina to the NCAA Tournament this season. And that would be a huge accomplishment considering the Gamecocks haven't played in the Big Dance since 2004 -- back when Martin was an assistant at Northeastern, and three years before Devan Downey enrolled at South Carolina.

The ACC/Big Ten Challenge starts Monday night.

Norlander and I picked every game at the conclusion of this podcast.
