Charlton was placed on injured reserve in mid-October with a back injury, and he was designated to return in early November. However, Lachlan Edwards has impressed enough in spot duties to apparently remain Carolina's punter for the rest of the season. The Panthers announced Wednesday that Charlton (back) has been designated for return from IR, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
