James (hamstring) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

James restarted his rehab assignment July 25 and allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five in 2.2 innings across four appearances. The right-hander had been on the injured list since the start of the season, and he'll remain in the minors after the Astros strengthened their bullpen at the trade deadline.
