Braves' Sean Newcomb: Sent to Triple-A

Newcomb was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Newcomb was recalled by Atlanta in mid-May, and he posted a 4.70 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 15.1 innings across 16 relief appearances during his time in the majors. He had posted scoreless outings in five of his last six appearances, but he'll now head to Triple-A Gwinnett after Max Fried (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.
