Barnes signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Barnes was cut loose by the Phillies on July 10, and he'll now serve as an organizational depth piece in the Cardinals' farm system. Barnes holds a 2.97 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 33.1 innings in Triple-A and has now been a part of three different organizations this season.
