Whitley (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list Monday.
It's unclear what injury has sidelined Whitley. He last pitched for Triple-A Memphis on June 26, allowing two runs on three hits with two strikeouts in one inning. He has a 6.57 ERA and 1.98 WHIP in 12.1 innings with Memphis since he was sent down in early June, and he'll be sidelined for at least a week.
