Molina (shoulder) is out of the lineup Friday against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Molina will sit for the forth straight game while nursing a sore right shoulder. St. Louis has secured its playoff positioning, so there's no incentive to rush the veteran catcher back into the starting nine. However, he played catch on the field ahead of Friday's game and is expected to return at some point this weekend, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Andrew Knizner will work behind the plate again in his absence.
