Diamondbacks' T.J. McFarland: Begins rehab assignment

McFarland (shoulder) threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

This was the first game of McFarland's rehabilitation assignment. He had been scheduled to pitch for the Aces on Wednesday, but the game was postponed. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said the left-hander will pitch again Sunday.
