Britton (forearm) is ready to increase his throwing distance on flat ground, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Britton was cleared to resume throwing a little over a week ago and he's now ready to extend the distance of his long toss. Eventually, Britton will move back in to throw with more intensity on flat ground before progressing to mound work and ultimately a minor-league rehab assignment. The expectation when Britton hit the DL for the second time was that he would miss 45-60 days.
