The Red Sox selected Dermody's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Dermody will make his first major-league start Thursday versus the Guardians after posting a 4.50 ERA and 47:9 K:BB over 44 innings with Worcester. He holds a career 5.60 ERA across 27.1 relief innings in the big leagues.
