Anderson was optioned to the alternate training site Friday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
The 26-year-old was acquired from the Giants in early February and surrendered five earned runs over 3.1 innings during spring training. Anderson should join Triple-A St. Paul for the start of the minor-league season.
