Hamilton cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. The 28-year-old was recently designated for assignment but will stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The Red Sox reassigned Hamilton to minor-league camp Friday. Hamilton had a solid season in Triple-A last year, slashing .238/.371/.447 with 42 RBI through 251 plate appearances, and has also got a cup of coffee with the Twins. Twins' Caleb Hamilton: Contract selected by Minnesota
Hamilton had his contract selected by the Twins on Friday. The 27-year-old will receive his first taste of the big leagues with starting catcher Ryan Jeffers (thumb) placed on the injured list. Hamilton has a .258/.392/.497 slash line with 10 home runs and 35 RBI for Triple-A St. Paul this year, and he should serve as Minnesota's backup catcher as Gary Sanchez takes over primary duties behind the plate....
