Okafor is going to attempt a comeback for the 2017-18 NBA season, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports.

Okafor's last stint in the league was with the Wizards during the 2012-13 season, where he ended up with averages of 9.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 block across 26.0 minutes. He went on to suffer a herniated disc in his neck the following year and has been working on a comeback ever since. Okafor is reportedly at full strength and going through individual workouts, so he could get a look from a team in need of a veteran big man. He's going to turn 35 in September, but according to Krawczynski, he's already been in talks with teams around the league. It will be a situation to monitor over the summer, but he'll ultimately have to pass a physical and have a strong showing in training camp to make a regular-season roster.
