Coates (ankle/knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Coates' absence will affect the Browns' depth at wideout, but the return of Josh Gordon from suspension more than makes up for it. With Gordon presenting a more formidable downfield threat than Coates, who has caught only five passes for 62 yards this season, it seems plausible that Coates won't see much burn on offense once he shakes off the injuries.
