Kansas City released Williams (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.

Williams dealt with a groin injury early in camp but was healthy for the preseason opener against the 49ers. It is unclear if the groin issue is the reason for his latest trip to injured reserve. The 26-year-old will be free to sign with another team once he fulfills the terms of his settlement. He's played in just one game since 2018, but during that season he caught 17 passes for 171 yards and one touchdown across 10 contests for the Cardinals.
