Gerry could handle defensive signal-calling duties for the Eagles in 2020, Paul Domowitch of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Gerry is the only remaining option in Philadelphia's linebacker corps who handled more than 305 defensive snaps (630) last season, per Domowitch, with Nigel Bradham having been released in February. The converted safety compiled 78 tackles in 2019 while suiting up for all 16 games despite battling a core muscle injury, an issue from which he's now fully recovered. Now heading into the fourth year of his NFL career, the 2017 fifth-round pick could be in line to step up his responsibilities on defense a notch and serve as the leader of the Eagles' linebacker corps.
