The Jets placed Griffin on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Griffin's placement on the reserve list could mean either that he's either tested positive for COVID-19 or been deemed a close contact of an infected person. If the veteran tight end is unable to gain clearance in time for Sunday's game against the Browns, Trevon Wesco and Daniel Brown would serve as the top backup options behind starting tight end Chris Herndon.
