The Packers signed Benkert to the practice squad Wednesday, Howard Balzer of SI.com reports.
Benkert logged a solid preseason in Green Bay, but he never had a real chance to beat our 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love for the No. 2 spot. Instead, he will get a chance to continue his development with the Packers on the scout team.
