Wild's Eric Staal: Left exposed for expansion draft

Staal was left unprotected by the Wild ahead of Wednesday's expansion draft, TSN reports.

The veteran center played a full 82 games during the 2016 campaign, marking the first time he's accomplished that feat in six years. He turned that into 28 goals and 37 assists, which was yet another solid showing for Staal despite going on 32 years old. Staal is currently on a favorable contract and now that he's unprotected, there's a chance he eventually ends up in Vegas following the expansion draft Wednesday.
