Question 1: What is this Beta all about? Answer: Welcome to the future of sports on the net! You are part of a select few that will "shape" the way sports information is experienced. SportsLine.com has created a website designed around you; the user. As part of this beta test group, we invite you to "customize" your SportsLine.com website to begin your experience. You'll soon notice the website will conform to your preferences and serve information HOW and WHEN you want it. During this beta test we eagerly await your comments and suggestions so feel free to "send us feedback" and let us know what you like, don't like, what's confusing or just not right. Also, be sure to take our "survey" to provide us valuable information critical to improving your experience. Question 2: Why should I customize the SportsLine.com website? Answer: Customizing the website is the first step to experiencing sports in a new way. By answering a few simple questions like, "what is your favorite team?" and "What is your most despised team?", the website will build itself around YOU. Think of it, with only a few answers to easy questions, you will have your very own website designed with one person in mind...YOU! Question 3: How do I customize the SportsLine.com website? Answer: Customizing the website is as easy as clicking "Customize" and answering a few basic questions about your sport preferences. Do it now and see for yourself... Question 4: Why should I set my team preferences? Answer: Team preferences let us know what teams are important to you and therefore should be important to us. We will use this information to organize the website and present information in an easy to read and visually recognizable manner. There are three options for each sport to select: Favorite- This is your favorite team in a particular sport. You can choose only ONE favorite team. Despised- This is the team(s) you love to hate in a particular sport. You can choose an unlimited amount of despised teams. Preferred- This is the team(s) you follow, but are not necessarily your favorite. You can choose an unlimited amount of preferred teams. Question 5: How do I set my team preferences? Answer: First, click "customize" to set your team preferences. For every sport you can select your favorite, despised and preferred teams. Favorite- This is your favorite team in a particular sport. You can choose only ONE favorite team. Despised- This is the team(s) you love to hate in a particular sport. You can choose an unlimited amount of despised teams Preferred- This is the team(s) you follow, but are not necessarily your favorite. You can choose an unlimited amount of preferred teams. When you are done selecting your team preferences, click "Finished". Question 6: Why should I set my highlight preferences? Answer: Setting your highlight preferences allows you to control the intensity of the "visual queues" to stories or news relating to the teams that interest you. You can select from simply displaying a particular team's icon in the story to displaying a team's icon and highlighting the information. There is even a "none" option for turning off the visual queues. Question 7: How do I set my highlight preferences? Answer: First, click "customize" to set your team preferences. Then, click on the "Highlight Settings" tab. Choose the intensity of the visual queues from "None" to "Highlights and Icons". Experiment with the settings to determine which is most appealing and functional for you. When you are done selecting your highlight preferences, click "Finished" or "Cancel" to ignore your selection. Question 8: Why are certain teams being highlighted? Answer: The teams being highlighted are the ones you chose as your "favorite", "despised" or "preferred" teams. We highlight them so the information stands out and you can more easily find what you are looking for faster. You can change the intensity of these visual queues by setting your "Highlight Preferences". Question 9: Why are certain team logos appearing? Answer: The teams that are coming up with logos are the ones you chose as your "favorite", "despised" or "preferred" teams. We place a small icon so the information stands out and you can more easily find what you are looking for faster. You can change the intensity of these visual queues by setting your "Highlight Preferences". Question 10: Why should I complete the survey? Answer: Taking the survey is the best way to tell us what you think of the changes we made to the SportsLine.com website. Our goal is to make the website personal and responsive to your needs. By answering the question(s) in the survey, you'll "shape" the way sports information is experienced on the net. Question 11: I found a problem, how do I report it? Answer: We want to hear from you!
