With the Yankees' 13-game winning streak over, the Tampa Bay Rays now have the league's longest winning streak at six games, which has them atop the AL East. A big reason for the Rays' success is 20-year-old rookie Wander Franco, whose current 28-game on-base streak is tied with Mickey Mantle for the second-longest streak for an AL player under 21. On the other end of the age spectrum is 41-year-old Nelson Cruz, who has clubbed seven home runs for the team in just 27 games since being acquired in a trade. Whether you prefer youthful exuberance or a seasoned veteran for your MLB DFS lineups, both Franco and Cruz make for intriguing Sunday MLB DFS picks.

Can Franco keep his record streak going as the Rays visit Baltimore at 1:05 p.m. ET? And will Cruz give you a great return on investment as one of the most expensive sluggers in the MLB DFS player pool? Before locking in any MLB DFS picks for Sunday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

On Saturday, McClure included Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson as one of his top MLB DFS picks on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Carlson went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored to return 34.3 points on FanDuel and 26 points on DraftKings. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure's top MLB DFS picks for August 29, 2021

One of McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Sunday is White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada at $3,900 on DraftKings and $3,500 on FanDuel. Moncada went 2-for-4 on Saturday to push his hitting streak to 14 games. The 26-year-old is batting .358 (19-for-53) during the streak with nine runs scored and five RBI.

On the season, Moncada is hitting .264 with 11 home runs and 54 RBI. But he's been a different player at home as Sunday's Cubs vs. White Sox game will take place on the South Side of Chicago. Moncada's slugging percentage is 72 points higher when playing at home than on the road, and nine of his 11 homers have come at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Part of McClure's optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe ($3,900 on FanDuel, $5,500 on DraftKings). Lowe has been blistering at the plate since the All-Star break with an OPS of 939, which is 157 points higher than his OPS in the first half of the season.

Lowe gets a great Sunday matchup vs. the Orioles as he's feasted off the divisional rivals. He has a .319/.429/.623 split against Baltimore this year and his five homers and 19 RBI against the Orioles are his most vs. any opponent. On Sunday he'll face Spenser Watkins and Lowe went 1-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in his last game when Watkins was on the mound.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for August 29, 2021
