Three American League teams made moves Sunday:

  • The Rays sent reliever Brandon Gomes to Triple-A Durham after Sunday's loss to the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported. He appeared in 10 games for the Rays with a 6.94 ERA.
  • The White Sox optioned reliever Donnie Veal to Triple-A Charlotte following Sunday's loss to Detroit, the club announced via Twitter. Veal appeared in just one game and recorded two outs without allowing a hit.
  • The Angels called up infielder Jean Segura and optioned reliever David Carpenter to Triple-A Salt Lake, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reported. Segura was rated as Anaheim's top non-Mike Trout prospect coming into the season.
