Teodo (forearm) has allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four in 5.1 innings across two starts since being activated from High-A Hickory's 7-day injured list May 24. Teodo hasn't started either contest, as he's instead been deployed as a bulk reliever in tandem outings with Dane Acker, who was reinstated from the IL that same day after being sidelined for the first seven weeks of the season with an unspecified injury. Until both young hurlers are fully stretched out, Teodo and Acker may continue to work in a tandem.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Emiliano Teodo: Out with forearm issue
Teodo is on the injured list at High-A Hickory with minor forearm tightness, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. With young, hard-throwing pitching prospects, there usually isn't such a thing as "minor" forearm tightness, but per Grant's report, Teodo is only expected to need several days off from throwing before ramping back up. He has some of the best stuff in the system, but Teodo may not have good enough command or control to start long-term. The 22-year-old can touch 101 mph with his four-seam fastball as a starter and also has a plus slider that can touch 94 mph.... See More ... See Less

Jeff Wilson@JeffWilsonTXR12H agoMax Scherzer’s rehab start is done: 4 2/3 innings, 4 H, 3R-ER, w BB, 8 Ks, 79 pitches/55 strikes. To give him a true #Rangers feel, Round Rock has no hits.

Evan Grant@Evan_P_Grant12H agoWhile Sam Huff is here, wouldn't look for him to be any answer to Rangers offensive woes. Might not even get a start. He doesn't have a homer in his last 24 games at Round Rock. He's struggled there lately.

Evan Grant@Evan_P_Grant12H agoRangers have stolen 13 bases in 13 games in June.

Jeff Wilson@JeffWilsonTXR13H agoA short day for Nathan Eovaldi who allows four runs in three innings. Brock Burke pitches a single perfect fourth in his first appearance since punching that door in Houston in April. #Rangers down 4-0.

Evan Grant@Evan_P_Grant17H agoRangers column from last night: It's no longer a matter of if, but where. Josh Smith is a regular. He's is not going back to the bench when Josh Jung returns. https://t.co/GkAMu66JqW

Evan Grant@Evan_P_Grant18H agoA bad call didn't sink the Rangers on Friday night, but it's either rip a dumb interpretation of a new rule or write ANOTHER story on the offense not scoring much: https://t.co/vkYzQQ4iHL
